Our Epoxy Floor Coating Process in Bradenton, FL
Giving you a flawless, long-lasting garage floor is our top priority at Granite Garage Floors Sarasota. Here's what you can expect from the garage floor coating process:
Cleaning: We thoroughly clean your garage floor, removing any dust, debris or previous floor coatings.
Preparation: Any cracks or imperfections on your concrete surface are carefully repaired to ensure a smooth foundation.
Concrete etch: A concrete etch is applied to the floor, which opens the pores of the concrete and creates a textured profile for better adhesion of the epoxy floor coating.
Application: Once the surface is prepped and dry, the coating is mixed according to manufacturer instructions and applied evenly across the floor using rollers or brushes. Working in small sections helps us maintain consistent coverage and prevents dry spots.
Curing: After each coat is applied, it's crucial to allow the epoxy coating to cure for the recommended time, ensuring a durable bond with the concrete.
Top coat: For extra protection, a top coat — such as a polyaspartic or urethane layer — can be applied once the epoxy coating has set. This multi-step process results in a garage floor that's not only visually appealing but also highly resistant to wear, stains and daily use.

Maintaining Your Granite Garage Floors Coating
Keeping your garage floor looking its best takes some regular cleaning and maintenance. Here's what you need to know:
Sweeping: Sweep or blow dust and debris off your garage floor before cleaning to prevent scratches and surface wear.
Spills: Clean up spills, especially oil or chemicals, immediately to avoid staining or damaging the coating.
Mopping: Using a pH-neutral cleaner, you can mop your floor after sweeping to remove any built-up dirt or substances.
