What Makes Our Process Unique
If you want to repurpose your garage into a TV room, home gym, or office, you have to start with the floors. We install strong, long-lasting garage floor coating systems for our many happy customers in the Chesterfield area in a meticulous way. It typically takes one to two days and includes:
- Prepping. Proper prepping is key to a good mechanical bond and excellent durability. During this step, we use diamond grinders to remove any old finishes, as well as stains, providing a porous surface that allows the epoxy to adhere better. This step also includes repairing any cracks or pits for an even surface.
- Coating. As we're applying the primer and the base coating, we use large rollers that ensure an even distribution of both coatings. We also custom-blend both on-site, using a formula based on the square dimensional footage of your garage. This ensures maximum durability and mil-thickness.
- Distributing flakes. When the coating is still wet, we'll hand broad-cast flakes across your garage floor so there's a strong chemical bond. Beforehand, you'll be able to choose from flakes that make the floor coating look like granite, quartz, stone, or metallic.
- Applying a protective coating. We then apply a final protective, clear coating to seal the flakes in and deliver a durable, easy-to-clean finish. This is applied using a squeegee and back-rolling method and also further enhances anti-slip properties.
- Cleaning up and returning the floor to service. Once we clean up, we just ask that you remain off the floor for 24 hours. Also, do not park vehicles or place heavy equipment on it for at least 72 hours. You can then enjoy your new floors and garage space.
